Rachael Simon

Housing & Homelessness Deputy

Rachael Simon is a United Way Homelessness Policy Fellow, serving as the Associate Housing and Homelessness Deputy for the Third District. She is a recent graduate of the Master of Social Work program at California State University, Long Beach

Rachael has extensive experience working with marginalized communities and individuals experiencing poverty, housing insecurity, homelessness, and severe and persistent mental illness.

Prior to joining Supervisor Kuehl’s office, Rachael worked for the Downtown Women’s Center, providing direct service in permanent supportive housing for women on Skid Row. Most recently, Rachael worked as a Graduate Research Assistant on the California State University System-Wide Basic Needs Study, a comprehensive mixed-methods study of university students’ unmet food and housing needs.
