Leah Cohen was born in London and grew up in New Jersey and Southern California. She attended Raritan Valley Community College and Rutgers University before moving to Los Angeles.
She began to work at the District Office in 2015 as a Field Deputy responsible for constituent services and community outreach in the West Valley and Mountain areas. In 2018, she moved to the downtown office to assist with digital communications, including weekly Board meeting recaps, email newsletter, Supervisor Kuehl’s website and social media presence.
Prior to joining Supervisor Sheila Kuehl’s team, Leah worked as an aide at ARC of Somerset County, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. She found her passion: working to ensure that all citizens can access the resources needed to succeed.
Leah has a long history of volunteering in her local communities, including senior centers, animal shelters, and bereavement support groups. She is an advocate for the homeless population, teens struggling with mental health issues, and animal adoption.
Leah enjoys cooking and exploring beaches, museums, restaurants, hiking trails, and all Los Angeles County has to offer with her husband, son, and dog.
