Administrative Assistant & Caseworker
Joseph Auer serves as an Administrative Assistant and Caseworker for Supervisor Kuehl in her Calabasas district office. In this role, he handles constituent services and conducts community outreach for residents of the West Valley and Mountain areas. A Los Angeles County native, Joseph recently graduated from UCLA, where he studied political science, economics, and French.
Prior to joining the Supervisor’s office, Joseph worked in Washington, D.C. as an intern for Congressman Ted Lieu. There, he assisted the legislative staff in their daily efforts to enact policy that would benefit the residents of CA-33, much of which overlaps with Supervisor Kuehl’s district.
Joseph is passionate about politics and engaging his community in government and public policy. He has volunteered for Get Out the Vote campaigns, voter registration drives, and initiatives to ease political polarization. He believes it is important to be active in your community and has volunteered in his own through library summer reading programs, river clean-ups, school music programs, an American Red Cross Youth Corps executive board, and more.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoys playing music, watching movies, and taking road trips to explore national parks.
