
Brenda Yanez
Field Deputy
Brenda Yanez was born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in Boyle Heights. She is a first-generation college graduate and the fifth child out of seven in her family. She obtained a B.S degree in Public Health and a B.A in Chicano and Chicana Studies from California State University, Northridge.
Prior to joining Supervisor Kuehl’s office, Brenda spent 2 years serving as a Field Representative for Assemblywoman Luz Rivas for the areas of Sylmar, Pacoima, Mission Hills, Sun Valley and Lakeview Terrace. She was also the primary representative for homelessness, housing, health, human services, senior issues, immigration, women’s rights, and human rights. Her passion for public health and assisting low-income communities is what drives her to do the work she does every single day.
Brenda represents Supervisor Sheila Kuehl in the San Fernando Valley covering ten communities in the 3rd District. Brenda is responsible for constituent services, managing the day-to-day office functions and representing Supervisor Sheila Kuehl in the field.
