West Valley/Mt. Communities Field Deputy & Caseworker
Blake Clayton was born in the Virgin Islands and grew up in Los Angeles. He graduated from North Hollywood Senior High School and attended Pierce College. He is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Arizona State University.
Blake joined the Board of Supervisors in 2014 as a receptionist under the retired Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, and continued his career at the County, with Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, as a Field Deputy and Case Worker. He is responsible for constituent services and community outreach in the West Valley/Mountain communities.
Prior to joining Supervisor Kuehl’s team, Blake worked in the insurance industry, assisting customers with workers compensation and natural disaster claims.
Blake is an active member of his church, Valley Crossroads Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Pacoima. He takes on a leadership role by serving as a deacon. He volunteers his time serving meals to homeless individuals and families, in addition to community outreach.
During his spare time, he loves to spend quality time with his friends and family. Blake is well versed in music, and plays tenor and alto sax, along with the piano. He hopes to travel across the United States and explore countries in Asia.
