Teens, looking for free activities for you and your friends? Parents, looking for a safe place for your middle and high schoolers to socialize in the evenings? Look no further than Los Angeles County’s new Our SPOT program, brought to you by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Our SPOT offers a variety of activities for 7th-12th graders including Field Trips, Health and Fitness Classes, Youth Leadership Activities and Opportunities, Mentorship Programs, and Health Education Classes. This program is available at nine parks throughout Los Angeles County, including a location in the Third District at El Cariso Park in Sylmar.
During the summer, the program runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 3:00 pm to, and Thursdays through Saturdays, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. During the school year, the hours are Monday through Thursday, after-school to 7:00 pm and Friday, after-school to 8:00 pm.
