Supervisor Sheila Kuehl today issued the following statement regarding the positive resolution of the fate of P-45, the mountain lion living in the Santa Monica Mountains:

“I am very grateful to the property owner for her willingness to work with my office, the National Park Service, the National Wildlife Federation, and others, to spare the life of one of the precious few mountain lions left in our Santa Monica Mountains.

This is a great example of the constructive ways that government, residents, nonprofits and activists can work together to forge a common sense solution that is a win-win for wildlife and ranchers.
I look forward to assisting other property owners in utilizing the most effective enclosures to protect both their livestock and our precious wildlife.”
